Post-doctoral researcher
Utrecht University
I am an EU-law jurist with a passion for sustainability. I explore how law can move markets, and how markets can drive the sustainability transition. My work sits at the intersection of EU law and sustainability, focusing on how public actors use powerful market tools to shape more sustainable outcomes. From leveraging EU trade agreements to push sustainability beyond EU borders, to mobilising public procurement for circularity, to empowering consumers through food information, I take a broad, integrated approach to EU law in action. I believe in a generalist approach to EU law to enable a holistic look. Alongside my research, I am a highly experienced and dedicated teacher, committed to making complex legal frameworks accessible, engaging, and impactful.
Outside of law, I enjoy science fiction and write short stories. I am also an avid reader of John Grisham. Most often, I can be found walking in the forest with my son and my kooikerhondje, Elsa or hiking on a mountaintop whenever possible.
